All of our puppies are sold on the limited register with the Dogs Qld (formerly called Canine Control Council of Qld) unless you are a registered breeder with a controlling canine body (either in australia or overseas) and specifically request Mains registered.
What does this actually mean? You are still obtaining a registered pedigree Labrador Retriever, that comes with papers detailing their pedigree, and are you able to participate in recognised Obedience, Agility, Tracking and Field Trials, Endurance and Earth Dog Tests and Sweepstakes, but limited register means you can not show them or breed a pedigree’d registered litter.
Every litter is different and not all puppies in a litter are “show quality” so by placing them on the limited register it is our way of ensuring the future betterment of the Labrador Retriever breed. Show quality only means the best example of the breed as a whole for showing or possible future breeding purposes. We only sell a very small number on mains register as we do not show ourselves.
New Dogs Qld rules from 2017 also state that you must be a member for at least 12 months before a prefix application will be considered which means you cannot breed any animals until you have a prefix. Our prefix is Thornton Park.
